HUB Alumni Association
In less than a week we wil hold our first meeting of the HUB Alumni Association. I am so excited about the possibilities of this group. So far we only have 6 RSVPs, which is a little below what I was expecting, but it will be a snowball. If your a HUB alum and want to join us, RSVP to thehubalumni at gmail dot com. I look forward to seeing you there!
Japan Tsunami Projection

Absolutely incredible how far this this thing may reach. Truly incredible.
Now I want to watch the original!
A week of frustrations
This has been a pretty crazy week at work. From a complete collapse of a major project, a phishing scam targeting our portal, and my UPS freaking out, to Telecom saving our project, office painted, and getting my new iPhone skin, I am pretty much beat. I still have to actually complete the project, converting our LANDesk core server from physical to VM, at 6pm this evening, and today is my day off. Add to it that I am told I am the liaison for the HUB when dealing with Admin Systems and/or Telecom, yet was left out of the loop this week resulting in a major duplication effort, and I am really feeling burned out. Here's hoping for something fun this weekend to get my mind off all this.
Ethnicity in Atlanta
Making the rounds this week in the online news is a really awesome series of maps made from the 2000 census data. These maps show the top 40 US cities and their ethnic makeup. Check out Atlanta. It is pretty crazy how the line at Ponce is almost a perfect divide. It also amazed me how evenly distributed Clayton County was. I know it has changed a lot in ten years though. Check out all of the cities on his flickr page.
Bedroom Intruder
It blows me away how far some people take internet videos. This however is awesome.
Nine Years
On a Tuesday morning nine years ago I woke up to news of what appeared to be a horrible accident. A plane had crashed into one the world trade center building. I watched in disbelief as the world changed in an instant. A second plane came into frame on the live footage and struck the other tower. It was no accident. It was not known at the time how much this event would change the course of American, and even world history. The first few minutes of the event and the collapse of the buildings is forever etched into my brain, but none of it compares to the months following, in which, for a brief time, our country was no longer divided. We were one. I remember.
Legality
Lawyers suck all the fun out of life. Hopefully this will be my last day in contract negotiations.
Glennz.com

This came across my google reader feed this morning and I felt like I really needed to share. I don't typically wear T-shirts, but this company has some really awesome designs. There are even iPhone backgrounds. Check it out.
