Stealing From the Templemans
I know that Chris and Kellie don't hold a copyright on weekend updates, so I guess it really isn't stealing, but I had a great weekend. Friday I met Brian for an early showing of Inception at the Mall of Georgia. This was a way to hopefully calm our nerves because that evening we started working on shooting a wedding. It was a surprisingly awesome movie. I was really dissapointed with DeCaprio in Shutter Island and went into this movie with that mindset. I know Chris Nolan did an amazing job with the batman series, but could he bring the magic that has been so hit or miss for DeCaprio? Absolutely. I don't think I have ever seen a movie that really had me engaged as much as this one did. After the movie we met Brian's wife Katrina for some lunch and walking for a couple minutes around the mall because Brian needed a UGA shirt for the rehearsal that night.
After getting a shirt Brian and I made a quick run down to Fry's for some batteries and an extra memory card. It was my first trip to Fry's and unlike the movie, it kinda disappointed me. It was massive and had tons of electronic stuff, but it really seemed like it was trying to be way too much. It was like a Best Buy, Cosco, Think Geek, and Amazon all mashed together keeping most of the worst parts and squeezing out the good stuff. I think maybe if I still built computers or needed some specialty things it would be better or if I was looking for some specialty items I needed right now it might be awesome. It just seemed to be a dirty and unorganized warehouse of lower end items.
Friday evening started the awesome train back up though. Brian, Katrina and I went to the rehearsal to scout out how we would shoot the wedding the next day. The church was great. Three doors in the back allowed me to slip in and out to move around to get to the right spots, as well as great walkways around the side that were walled so Brian could move from the front to the back all kinds of stealth like. After the scouting we were invited to the rehearsal dinner and it was the most unique rehearsal dinner I have been to in a long time. The family rented out an amazing little diner in Gainsville called the Collegiate. Everyone was wearing team logo wear, so mostly UGA stuff
. It was absolutely informal and comfortable. Not to mention I think they have the best chili-slaw dog in Atlanta.
After a restless night we got up and started getting the gear ready. Brian left at 10am to get the first shots and I joined him at 11 to get more getting ready shots. I can't tell you how much fun it is to watch Brian and Katrina work together. The whole day flew past as soon as we got to the church. There were a few challenges, but overall it was a blast. I wish I could post some photos from it, but they are pretty much the property of Brian. After he gets some prints and whatnot from the bride and groom I may post a couple of my better shots.
After the wedding I went back to the Hursey's and crashed. Sunday morning I got up and started headed home when my mom called to tell me that her and my dad were trying a recipe we had talked about a couple weekends ago, smoking a ham on the grill. That was enough to get me to change my car's destination and head home to Augusta. It was absolutely worth it. I got to spend some time with the family and the ham was fantastic. We had the ham, grilled corn on the cob (one of my favorites), potato salad, and green beens. Talk about a great dinner.
Anyway, that was most of my weekend. There are some other highlights I won't post here, but maybe I'll be proven wrong and I'll get to post about it soon

The title should be “Stealing from the Templemans TM”! LOL
Glad you had a good weekend, the wedding sounded like a blast except I see one huge problem… No Georgia Tech stuff at the rehearsal dinner? Than that is a marriage destined to fail…. j/k.
Need to get together with ya soon for a weekend outing, haven’t seen you or the rest of the gang in a bit. Also, good luck with the move this weekend…. my hubby will be there to help you out.

It was actually pretty funny. One family whore GT shirts, the flower girls’ family. The invitation to the rehearsal dinner had that logo crossed out as an option
