The Wall The Misadventures of a PK

Quick Weekend Recap

This past weekend was a busy one for the most part.  Friday I went and picked up Kim in the morning.  We had a few errands to run, such as finding a birthday gift for my niece Kate.  We wanted to look around the Jonesboro road area, but she had a headache so we headed back to the house for her to get some advil and rest a bit.  About 3pm we headed to the Stonecrest area to look for stuff.  We went that direction because my sister and her family were coming in to watch my cousin Bradley play baseball for GSU and that is where we decided to meet.  We went all over the mall and the Toys-r-us, but nothing was looking good for Kate.  That all changed when we went into Borders.  There was so much stuff there.  We spent almost an hour and a half picking stuff up and then swapping it.  In the end we ended up getting Kate two books.  A book for girls for to doodle and a pocket sized one for the car.  Hopefully she will enjoy them.

After we got the books and met up with Leigh and her family we headed to the game.  This is Bradley's senior year and Leigh hadn't made it to one of his games yet.  We go there at during the bottom of the first and it was so awesome.  At the GSU baseball field every seat is right up against the field.  There really are no bad seats.  The game kinda started slow at the plate for Bradley, with a strike out and a walk his first two at bats, but his third at bat was a record breaking double. With that hit, he now holds the record for most bases in GSU history.  Below is a video of his fourth and final at bat, which also happened to be a double.  After the Game we all went over to Buffalo Wild Wings to hang out my uncle Lance and Bradley.  I also got to finally see his championship ring from last year when GSU won the devision title.  Talk about awesome.

Saturday I got up early and Kim and I hit the road for Augusta.  We were going to a party.  The family was throwing a birthday party for Kate and William at my mom's house and I really wanted to be there.  It was a ton of fun.  A good many of my cousins showed up and even Stephen and Emily came with McKinna Grace.  She is almost 7 weeks old now and is so cute.  At the party we had a couple cakes and sang happy birthday before going out to the carport for some fun with the piniata.  All the kids really seemed to enjoy it but could't muster the strength to really break it.  My cousin Ryan ended up picking Kate up and letting her stomp on it till it spilled its sugary guts.

Sunday was a very restful day for me.  I finally got some much needed sleep with an afternoon nap and then met Kim for dinner at Logans in McDonough.  We were gonna go see a movie afterwords but after looking at the start times, we decided to save our money and just went back to my place and hung out with James and Masako.    It was a very good and relaxing evening.  A great endcap to a really good weekend.
