An amazing weekend
Wow, talk about a much needed rest. I had a very long weekend this past weekend thanks to a couple furlow days. Friday was a blast. I finally got to make cornbread with my cast iron skillet and it turned out pretty well. I have a good starting point for my next go at it at least. I made the cornbread to go with a nice big pot of chili. Kim came over and she at least pretended to like the cornbread and chili, as did James and Masako. It seemed to be edible and I may try it again soon before it gets too warm outside. After dinner Kim joined me to watch Serenity. I have seen this movie a dozen times and I am sure I could watch it a dozen more. I know this will probably anger Chris, as he really wants to get up a day to watch Firefly.
Saturday Kim and I drove to Augusta. My mom got a new TV and she wasn't sure how to hook everything back up. So we got there before lunch time and I started going through the mess of cables and equipment. After about four hours we had the TV hooked up to the surround sound, cable box, and Wii, plus got the remote setup to control all of it. It really was awesome. I know my mom is unsure if she likes it because the room is now open, but I have to say it looks awesome. Now there is nothing to block the view of the river. About 6:30 we met a good chunk of my family at a mexican restaurant before heading back home. Everyone seems to like Kim and she fit right in with everyone. It was a really great trip to Augusta and the company made it even better.
Sunday I got back to cooking. I had a steak in the fridge and a new marinade idea. I was going to use a combination of worstichire sauce, olive oil, and red wine vinaigrette with fresh cracked peppercorns as the when marinade. After cooking the steaks on the cast iron skillet and oven, I wanted to rub them with a special blend of seasoning hopefully similar to Longhorns Praire Dust. Needless to say the steaks were ok, but I forgot the praire dust and it was a pretty poor cut of meat. Kim was very kind about it, but I was not too thrilled. I will be going back to the drawing board with this one. I hope to make a trip to a real butcher shop for my next attempt.
I hate laundry. This is all I can say about Monday
Yesterday completely made up for it. I spent the whole day with Kim and we had a blast. We started out with breakfast and a movie, and then we spent a great afternoon exploring Renold's Nature Preserve after a quick bite at Lenny's. After completely tiering ourselves out with hiking we went over to best buy to pick up a movie to relax with. We picked up xXx, because we both love some good Vin Diesle action movies, and Role Models. When we got back home we decided to watch xXx. James and Masako declined to join us but we still had fun laughing at the awesomeness of that movie. It was an absolutely awesome day with Kim and I was so glad we got to spend the day together.
Overall it was a great 5 day weekend. Hopefully I will get some picks up from Renold's soon. Hope everyone else had a great weekend and hope to see some of you tonight for the thing at the place.

The obligatory visit to meet the folks… Glad it turned out well. Its so stressful before, but afterwards somehow so relieving. Oh, unless your wife is a Wiccan.

I had an AMAZING time!!! The Wallom family is great. John is the VERY BEST and I am the LUCKYEST girl in the WORLD!!! (and I guess his wife is the luckyest girl in Wiccon, but if I am not mistaken she is going to be in the obituaries not long after this email…..) J/K, I’m not a violent person, until you mess with John. Ohh…. there I go again. Sorry!!!
I did have an AWESOME time. I always have a wanderful time when I am with him.
I still don’t know how John made sence of all those cords, wires and thingies. Can’t wait till we go back on the 20th of March. Ahhhhh, so excited!!! John’s might kill me for talking so much……oops…..c-ya

Mr Frosti, your not kidding it is stressful before hand. Luckily that wasn’t this past weekend, it was a week or two before this trip. This one was just a spur of the moment thing to help my mom get her TV squared away. The most relieving part of it was how well Kim fits in with the family. Not just my folks and sister, but the much larger family too.
And it looks like you may not want to anger Kim by telling her that everything outta my mouth is a lie. Looks like thems might be fightin words
